The support of individuals like you make the special services at Camp Brim Shire possible. There are a variety of ways to provide support including cash donations, gifts in kind, memorial gifts and endowments.

CASH DONATIONS:
Children, disabled or non-disabled, grow and develop every second of every minute of every day. This process usually never stops unless the child or individual runs out of resources, has no where to go or suffers mental / physical or economic tragedy. Then, it is our responsibility to reach out to that child or person in order to help him / her excel or become part of the mainstream of life.  Not everyone will accept our help and some may never succeed in life but we MUST try.

Our foundation receives NO local, state or federal funding, nor do we receive funding from the United Way. We receive restricted funding from the Phelps County Board for Developmental Disabled Residents of Phelps County and the Elmer A. Sander Charitable Trust for mentally retarded programs. The rest of our funds are from individual donors, a few foundations and major corporations. Funds are restricted by the donors for specific initiatives. (Not for administration, operations or implementation of programs).

Our annual operating budget is a modest $10,000 which includes utilities, maintenance, programs, insurance, supplies, pool costs, repairs and office supplies. As we have no wages or salaries, nearly all funds received are used directly for the children and our diverse programs. (Administrative costs for utilities, maintenance, etc are less than 4%.)
Your financial assistance will make a direct contribution to children and the groups we serve. Due to our low overhead, your donation will not be lost in overhead costs or salary expenses, but will provide a special child opportunity to reach new exciting challenges affordable to his / her family or support agency.

You also may wish to bring your gift directly to Camp Brim Shire and tour the campus.  Visitors are always welcome, but please call 573-699-4351 for an appointment.  We keep our gate locked for privacy, safety and security reasons. You may specify what you wish your gift to be used for, otherwise will will use it for our greatest immediate need.
You will receive our IRS donation card and /or a personal thank you letter and be placed among our honor roll of donors.

MEMORIALS:
Memorial donations from a recent loss of a loved one are a warm and caring tribute that helps others. While flowers are gestures of love – they are quickly disposed of and forgotten.  Your memorial can, and will, help many others in memory of your loved one. Example: the cost of a $40.00 plant or flower could help twenty children learn and experience new fun and character building activities or the funds can
be dedicated to a specific needed item or project while providing a lasting memory and tribute to that family member. The particular donor or loved one will be inscribed on a plaque installed for that support.
